etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Ford Ranger- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2019 Ford Ranger and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the etrailer Class III 2" Hitch Receiver. Adding a 2" hitch receiver to the back of your Ford Ranger's gonna allow you to do a couple different things. First up being you can pick up a ball mount, put it in here and pull small trailers with it. But if you're gonna do that, you may already have the four pole factory prep package under here that'll allow you to pull trailers without brakes. If you decide to pull a trailer with brakes, you'll want to add a seven pole on there. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2020 Ford Ranger- Video

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2020 Ford Ranger, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver. When it comes to trailer hitches, one of the common questions that our customers ask is if their spare tire is going to work with the hitch in place Just to give you an example and show you that this is going to have no problem keeping that spare tire up here, while being able to use your trailer hitch still.Now, compared to some of the other hitches out there, this one is going to stick out a little bit further here, closer to the back of the truck, but it is still going to sit more or less just about flush with the edge of the bumper. Now, a couple upsides of that is that it's going to be easy to access to connect or disconnect any of your accessories, and if you're into fold-up accessories, this one's going to be really good, giving us an extra clearance, that way you don't have to worry about any interference or contact whenever you do fold the accessories up.Now, one of the things I like, especially with this being a truck hitch, is that this is still going to give us a nice clean look. It's really not going to be all that noticeable back here. Many of our Ranger customers use their trucks to do a little bit of everything. more

So a reason you might want to install this draw-tite trailer hitch is, number one, your Ranger didn't come with the factory trailer hitch from the factory. However, a lot of the Rangers did have what we call this bumper support beam here. This bumper support beam here means you can install a hitch ball and tow directly with your bumper. However, our weight capacities are going to be limited while we are towing with our bumper. more

One thing that was kind of surprising to me, especially on a truck with a heavy duty hitch like this, is that the hitch is going to be pretty hidden. So it's going to look good and you're not going to have an eyesore on the back of your pickup. Now, as far as the hitches weight capacities go, it's going to have a 1,125 pound maximum gross tongue weight rating. That's going to be the amount of weight pushing down on the hitch. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Ford Ranger - Curt- Video

All right, today on this 2006 Ford Ranger, we're going to review and install the Curt Class III 2 inch receiver hitch, part number 13138. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed in our truck. At first glance, you notice that it sits just below the bumper here and all you see is the receiver and just part of the cross tube right here. This is our 2 inch receiver opening right here, has a nice symmetrical rounded collar around the end for reinforcement. As we look back on our receiver tube right here, it uses a 5/8ths of an inch hitch pin or your favorite locking pin. Our receiver tube goes into a round stock here in the body of our hitch. You can see it will curve up and into the frame of the vehicle. All our hardware to install the hitch is provided. more

Today's on is 1999 Ford Ranger, we're gonna install part number 13138 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks when installed on the vehicle. Next we'll give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or cargo carrier. From top of receiver opening, down to the ground, its gonna be 15 and a half inches. From center of a hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper, its gonna be 3 and a half inches. Trailer Hitch Installation - 1998 Ford Ranger- Video

Today on a 1998 Ford Ranger were going to install part number 87161 from Hidden Hitch. Its also supplied part number 75082 from Draw-Tite. Alright this is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements to help you out when selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 14-3/4 inches, and from the center of the pin hitch hole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 4-1/2 inches. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Ford Ranger- Video

Today on this 2008 Ford Ranger, we are going to install part number 87161 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75082 from Draw-Tite. OK, we will show you how the hitch mounts up to the frame of the vehicle. You are going to use the existing hole right here and you are going to use this existing spot right here, with the bolt in here. This bolt will be removed and replaced with new hardware. The J-nut behind it will be replaced also. We will start off by removing the hardware right here. And one little thing that you might want to do is go ahead and loosen this bolt up a little bit. That way, it makes it a little easier to move this J-nut here. We are done with the driver side. Let us go ahead and do the same thing again on at the passenger side. 0:44 more
